New travel pass for women affected by pension changes

A new concessionary travel pass is now available for women living in Greater Manchester who were born between 6th October 1953 and 5th November 1954 for off-peak bus, train and tram travel.

The new travel pass was initiated by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester as a way to provide a benefit to women who were most affected by the sudden change to the state pension age in the 2011 Pensions Act.

To find out if you are eligible for the Women's Concessionary Travel Pass, Transport for Greater Manchester have created a webpage that calculates this. If you meet the criteria, then you can apply for the pass by downloading the application form from the same webpage and sending the completed form by post, or go to the nearest TfGM Travelshop.
